For AOL users (2 methods including an alternate):
Some
AOL browsers are pre-configured during installation with a
variety of security features enabled. Unfortunately, these
pre-activated features disable permissions that allow users
to participate in sites that rely on cookies and other special
functions that enhance your browsing experience. Thankfully,
AOL is flexible enough to allow you to modify these settings.
Below are two methods, including a proven alternate method.
These methods should work for any sites on the Web.
Method
1 (To enable cookies for all web sites,
including this portal):
1.
In the AOL top menu bar, click on "My AOL".
2. Select "Preferences" from the drop down
menu.
3. In the Preferences window, click on the WWW icon.
4. Click on the "Security" tab.
5. Click on the "Internet zone", then click
on the "Custom" button on the bottom of the
window.
6. Scroll down until you see "Cookies".
7. Click Enable.
8. Click on OK
.
Alternate
AOL method:
1.
Launch AOL and then minimize it (do not close AOL).
2. Launch Internet Explorer or Netscape using your AOL connection.
3. Type this portal's url "http://www.unitynetwork.com"
into your browser address window.
The
site should open up within your browser.
The
above alternate method should allow you to participate on
this portal using your active AOL connection as a ramp allowing
access to the portal community.
